Motherhood Sculptures - based on my experiences of Motherhood, starting with the gestures of Carrying, developing to Holding and more recently, to Letting Go and Taking Flight.

Love to All
Love to All
This was painted in reaction to all the pain and suffering in the world, and also suffered by the world. We are all in need of Love and Healing.

Loving Father cradling son with broken legs, terracotta
I made this piece a few years ago - the legs on the young boy broke in the firing. I didn't know what to do, but thought, well, some babies have broken legs and disabilities, so I kept him. The father has a kind-of cleft-lip.
One friend came in and instantly burst into tears - her adopted son came to her with damaged legs and a cleft-lip. She said she had never seen a sculpture piece of someone with disabilities, and that she didn't often burst into tears. She was so moved, I was moved. There were more tears!
Her lad has now grown up, fit and well, and loved.
It was a real privilege to share that moment with her.
